A man needing extensive dental work has saved himself £7,000 by getting it done in Hungary .

Johnny Fincham, a musician, paid £5,000 for treatment during two flying trips to Budapest after approaching a string of British dentists and being quoted at least £12,000 for the work.

Mr Fincham, 44, underwent highly-specialised treatment including titanium implants, a 13-crown bridge, root canal treatments and fillings.

"I did have pretty intensive treatment and it was quite concentrated, the sort of work that you may have done over several visits in Britain , " he said.

Mr Fincham, from Kirby Bedon, near Norwich , suffered from persistent cysts on his gums and discovered the Kreativ Dental laboratory in Budapest on the internet after getting quotes for the treatment he needed from eight British dentists.

Mr Fincham said many Germans and Austrians were already heading for Hungary for treatment.
